Activities & Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and monitor servers for many clients in multiple locations in the NYC area including central hosting facility
• Ensure corporate and client environments are operational and available on a 24/7 basis
• System performance analysis and tuning
• Responsible for day-to-day maintenance including user account management and security, data backup and recovery, installation of systems and software, installation of system patches, and collaborating with team members on issue resolutions
• Document systems, configurations, and operational instructions
• Develop proposals for recommending upgrades for software/hardware
• Plan for sizing and scaling of servers
• Servers: UNIX, Linux, NT/2000 Servers, VMware
• Software: JBOSS, Borland Enterprise Server, WebSphere, Apache, Qmail, SMTP, djbdns, BIND, MS Exchange , Back Exec, Arcserver, Veritas, Tivoli
• Databases: Oracle, DB2, MSSQL, MySQL
• Cisco Networks: Catalyst, LD, PIX

Skills/Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years related experience
• Expertise in UNIX, Linux and Windows hardware/software troubleshooting techniques and enterprise infrastructure support
• Knowledge and/or experience in LAN's, WAN's, and security is also required
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or the equivalent in training and experience
